Turning a New Leaf
I have been getting a rather weird high by smoking a tobacco cigarette like a joint. A drag will start me up and two cigarettes will get me totally zonked. I usually don't smoke (except grass). Do you have any ideas about the medical ramifications of this habit?
Cigarettes are a known health hazard. Do you get them from the "Friendly Stranger"?

Can you give us some straight information about cigarette smoking? Do you think the habit is really harmful?
I think there is little doubt that cigarette smoking causes lung cancer, emphysema, and perhaps heart disease.
Since the U.S. Surgeon General's report on the association between cigarette smoking and lung cancer, 85,000 MD's have given up smoking. Today, only 21% of all MD's smoke cigarettes and only 16% of those under the age of 35.
The tobacco interests spend more on advertising than any other industry. They are very successfully selling death.
